Participate

There are two possibilities of taking part in the Gstaad Classic Audemars Piguet. The route is the same for all participants, the difference being the approach taken towards the timed races which determine the ranking.

In Compétition, it is the race against the watch, in Regularity, the fight is with the watch. For this, the documents and equipment of the men and their mounts are different.

The required Cars

The same cars can be entered into the two categories. They are accepted –at the complete discretion of the Organisation Committee – providing they are Touring, GT or Sports cars, and registration is compulsory.

Competition Category: The race against the watch

In this category, the winner without argument, is the fastest.

  • The pilot and co-pilot must be in possession of a valid International or National FIA License and wear homologated helmets and pilot suits
  • The car must be equipped in conformity with the Annexe K of the "FIA International Sporting Code" and a undated "P.T.H" (Technical Historic Passport).

Regularity Category: The race with (an eye) on the watch

The goal of this category, as evoked by its name is Regularity. Easier said than done, it remains an excellent exercise for competition and is strongly recommended for competitors not yet very experiences in race driving.

  • The pilot must be precise and always respect the ideal predetermined time. Speed doesn’t count as it is only the difference between the target time and the performance which leads to the penalisation.
  • The pilot and the co-pilot who do not have an International or National IA Competition License, need to present, an International or National Regularity license.

With this regularity rule, a car even of modest performance, can contemplate winning. The car needs no particular equipment other than an FIA Technical Historic Passport (P.T.H) or a FIVA Card.
